Going update after racing

Chris Stickels, Ascot’s Clerk of the Course, said: “We are going to do the same again and put 5mm on. We felt that, although it has been hotter today, 5mm is the right amount just because we do not want to overdo it.

“The track is holding up very well, although it is starting to get a little worn after four days and it does not take the watering as well when it gets worn, so we are going to put 5mm on again everywhere.

“It is going to be dry tonight and I don’t think there is much chance of rain. Tomorrow is not due to be quite as hot as it was today; it got up to nearly 29 degrees today, whereas tomorrow is set to be around 25.”

Attendance
