Chris Stickels, Ascot’s Clerk of the Course, said: “We are going to water everything again tonight with 5mm. The forecast now looks generally dry for the next two days. There is the outside chance of a shower, but minimal really. Temperatures are forecast to get a little bit warmer, but not massively – maybe 26 or 27 degrees tomorrow, then 25 degrees on Saturday.”

The crowd figure for day three of Royal Ascot was 69,082, up 5.1 per cent on 65,718 last year.
